Elizabeth Wight "Love Grenades" on Center Stage

Elizabeth Wight of the band Love Grenades came Center Stage with Mark Gordon to talk about her debut EP "Tigers in the Fire."

Hailing from Los Angeles, Love Grenades is the music project of Elizabeth Wight; a singer-songwriter who blends classic new wave pop sheen ala Blondie with the modern electro touches of Bat for Lashes. She formed Love Grenades as a response to the drudgery of of the modern work life and as a way to create an artistic outlet for her experiences dealing with the confusion of relationships and an early emancipation from her home. A five-song demo was born out of the maelstrom, dance pop tracks that chronicled the seedy heady life of LA with a uniquely female perspective on life, dancing and love. Since that demo, Love Grenades has built up a loyal following, toured Europe, released a music video for “Young Lovers” (inspired by Godard that won Best Music Video at various indie film festivals), and also released the single “Tigers in the Fire” produced by Dave Darling (Tom Waits, Stray Cats, etc.) on Modus Vivendi Records.
