Magnolia Pictures will release "The World’s Fastest Indian" in New York and Los Angeles for an award-qualifying run on December 9th

"The World’s Fastest Indian" is the endearing biographical journey of a New Zealand motorcyclist embarking on a great American adventure through the United States, starring Academy Award winning actor Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs). Shown earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival and at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, the film was written and directed by Roger Donaldson (Thirteen Days).

Hopkins stars as the irrepressible true-life Burt Munro, a New Zealand motorcycle tinkerer who never let his youthful passion for speed fade. After a lifetime of perfecting his classic Indian motorcycle, Burt set off from the bottom of the world to test his bike at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. With all the odds against him, he set a new land speed record that remains unbroken to this day and established his legendary reputation among motorcyclists.

Magnolia Pictures will release The World’s Fastest Indian in New York and Los Angeles for an award-qualifying run on December 9th, followed by a national roll-out early next year.
